Precision Conservation and Profit Mapping

September 23 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

The Ontario Certified Crop Advisor Association (CCA) and Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association (OSCIA) have partnered to deliver training and educational resources to Ontario agronomists. With a focus on cover crops, nitrogen management, and rotational grazing, these sessions will support the objectives of the On-Farm Climate Action Fund. With the Precision Ag specialty recently opened to Ontario CCAs, there is an opportunity to broaden training related to sustainable agricultural practices. Check out the full webinar series schedule here.

Join us on Wednesday, September 23 with Anastassia Lagounova, Conservation Specialist with the Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) and Aaron Breimer, Ontario CCA and agronomist. Anastassia will present on the outcomes and results of GRCA’s Profit Mapping Demonstration Project (2020-2024) and the Agriculture Conservation Planning Framework (ACPF) pilot project, a GIS-based toolbox developed by the USDA Agricultural Research Service that helps identify opportunities for conservation practices to improve water quality, manage runoff, and reduce erosion. Aaron will share the challenges and benefits of profit mapping from the agronomist’s perspective.

This webinar will include a presentation on the GRCA Profit Mapping Project, a CCA/agronomist perspective on profit mapping, and a summary of OSCIA programs that can utilize this technology.

Funding for this project has been provided by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada through the Agricultural Climate Solutions (ACS) – On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF). This event is free to attend.
