Thursday, September 7, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
2141 Theatre Rd S, Cobourg, ON. Site kindly provided by Hunco Farms.
Registration Information Coming Soon!
Spectators will get a firsthand look at the impacts of axle load, tire pressure and configuration as various pieces of equipment run over in-ground sensors. Hosts will explain how these forces can cause compaction in wet and dry soils. There will also be discussions on tire technology, tire choice, cover crops, soil structure, and more! This is a great opportunity to learn how your equipment and management may be impacting your soil.

We Need You, and You!
We’re seeking 6–12 responsible and safety conscious volunteers to help Quinte SCIA work with the Ontario Soil Compaction Team (OSCT) to conduct demo operations on event and prep days (Sep 5–7):
-Driving, weighing and organizing equipment
-Recording equipment details (equipment and tire/track data)
-Helping direct equipment across the sensor pit before or during the event
-Post–event help to uninstall the sensors and cleanup
-A person to take pictures during the entire event with the OSCT camera
-Parking attendants/traffic control Gate/registration table (wrist bands)
Demo Equipment
We’re also seeking equipment from local producers of interest in real–world scenarios and appropriately sized for farms in the Quinte region. The equipment will need to be on–site for two days prior and event day.
