Wow! … from “doom and gloom” to “Holy Crap! We’re almost done harvest!”
Mother Nature sure has been cooperating with us in October. No mudding the harvest out. Which means no soil compaction, better soil health, especially when we can drill in rye cover crop after corn harvest. All these things have a cumulative affect on soil health and the ability of the soil to produce better crops in the future.
We are looking forward to a new fiscal year in OSCIA. Remember that another intake of OFCAF funding program opens January 4 and closes January 18th. This is a great program to support your BMPs in the Nitrogen Management, Cover Cropping and Rotational Grazing efforts.
Remember to be safe to finish off this cropping year!
