Winter is almost over and Mother Nature has been fairly gentle in North Simcoe, not great for sledding. On March 3 the NSSCIA had a return to normalcy with the annual Seed and Feed Show in Elmvale. Attendance and entries were close to pre Covid years. Guest speakers were Ben Rosser of OMAFRA whose topic was nitrogen management on corn. Jill Dunk spoke on crop insurance and yields from 2022. Dean Anderson from Farm Safety reminded us about the dangers and precautions we can take every day on the farm. Also Steve Kell as usual gave an entertaining and informative talk about markets. Thanks to our committee who helped with the show and the many generous sponsors who provide the funding required to host the event and other commitments we have throughout the year.
