Please join us in welcoming two new Field Crop Specialists to OMAFRA; Sophie Krolikowski, Cereal Crop Specialist, based out of Stratford and Laura Scott, Cropping System Specialist, based out of Kemptville.

Sophie Krolikowski is the successful candidate for the Cereals Specialist 12 month contract. Sophie will be working with the Ontario Cereal sector to build on the good work underway. Sophie has over 5 years experience as Entomology Lab Technician with Agriculture Agri-Food Canada in London, Ontario. Sophie has a Masters of Environment and Sustainability from Western University. She has strong attributes in plant-insect interactions and insect toxicology.

Laura Scott is the successful candidate in the recent Cropping System Specialist competition. Laura brings relevant experience from working as a field crop agronomist with Harvex Agromart in Eastern Ontario for the past 3 years and she is a Certified Crop Advisor. Prior to her industry contributions, Laura completed a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Guelph, in the Food, Agriculture and Resource Economics Department (FARE). Laura has strong leadership skills from volunteering in local agriculture associations.

We are excited to have Sophie and Laura join the OMAFRA field crop team.
