Nitrogen is certainly a hot topic of conversation at this point in time.  With high fertilizer prices, goals of emissions reductions, and of course, trying to identify the best way to apply N fertilizer using the 4Rs means that there is a lot of information to discuss, and some misconceptions and miscommunications to clarify.
 
OMAFRA will be hosting a 4-part webinar series entitled “Maximizing your Nitrogen Dollar” to take an in-depth look at Nitrogen.  Join academic, extension, and grower experts to discuss maximizing N use efficiency using available tools, BMPs, and new technology.
 
Each session is focused on specific sectors of Ontario agriculture, as well as explaining how tying different sectors together can work to an advantage.
Session 1: Wed, Nov 23 – 12-1pm             Overview – the science of N, the N cycle, and emissions
Session 2: Wed, Nov 30 – 12-1pm             Maximizing N use efficiency – horticulture crops
Session 3: Wed, Dec 7 – 12-1pm                Maximizing N use efficiency – field crops
Session 4: Wed, Dec 14 – 12-1pm              Maximizing N use efficiency – livestock and manure
