I hope as you are reading this newsletter you find yourself near the end of a busy harvest season if not done already. We have been spoiled with some excellent weather this fall which has made for an enjoyable harvest – a nice change from what we dealt with last year. From what I have heard, it sounds like Grey County has had some of the best corn and soybean yields in the province this fall. Along with rising crop prices through the fall, it has been a nice combination that doesn’t come around all that often!!
On the Soil and Crop side of things, it has been fairly quiet over the last few months as we have all been focused on harvest. Please take some time to look at some of the plot data in the e-version of this newsletter, as there is nothing better than local data and research. A big thank you to the growers that take the time to do these plots and share their results.
Our focus in the coming months is the Grey County AGM which will be held in Rocklyn on Friday December 16th. We have an excellent agenda lined up so please try to come out. It will certainly be nice to see everyone in person after being virtual for the last two years. And the hot meal doesn’t hurt either!!
To wrap up I hope you can all enjoy the coming winter months and take some time to slow down after the busy growing season. We have so much to be thankful for here in Grey County, and sometimes we just need to slow down and reflect. I hope to see you all in Rocklyn on December 16th.
