SUMMARY:Bruce County Rotational Grazing Field Day
DESCRIPTION:Thinking about getting into rotational grazing? Wanting to up your rotational grazing game? Come on out to the Bruce County Rotational Grazing Field Day! \n\nThe day starts with producer Peter Kotzeff talking about how he strip grazes corn and why it might be something for you to consider adding to your grazing system. He’ll also talk about water system infrastructure and Amadou Thiam from OMAFA will be present to discuss designing a water system from scratch and things that need to be taken into consideration. \nIn the afternoon we’ll travel to the Bruce Community Pasture for lunch and to learn more about the projects they’ve been working on as part of the Community Pastures Initiative. Find out how they’re intensifying their rotational grazing system and what considerations have gone into their grazing plan. \nWhere: Keady and Tiverton in Bruce County. Exact addresses will be sent two days before the event. \nWhen: Saturday\, October 17th\, 10am to 3pm \nThis is a free event\, open to anyone\, but registration is required. \nOther details: \n\nLunch will be provided\nConsider bringing a lawn chair\nAddress will be sent to registered attendees two days before the event\n\n\nREGISTER HERE \nThis event is an OSCIA-recognized Knowledge Sharing Event (KSE) for applicants in with On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF) projects in the Rotational Grazing category. \nFor CCAs and P.Ags this event will count towards the in-person component of the Rotational Grazing Micro-Credential badge. \nFunded under the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership\, a federal-provincial-territorial-initiative\, and Agricultural Climate Solutions (ACS) – On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF) by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.

SUMMARY:Learning From The Field: Biological Inputs\, Bioregional Supply Chains\, and the Question of Where Regenerative Agriculture May Be Headed
DESCRIPTION:Learning from the Field is a full day educational forum\, about 6 hours\, bringing farmers\, researchers\, and agricultural professionals together at Ivey Business School to explore a different path. The central question of the day is whether regional agri food systems can reduce or eliminate dependence on synthetic inputs while remaining ecologically and economically viable\, and what a more bioregional supply chain for those inputs might look like. \nThe event is organized by a farmer project group within the Collective Action Program (CAP) for Regenerative Agriculture\, an action research initiative hosted by the Office of the Endowed Chair for Regenerative Agriculture at Ivey Business School. Over two years of participatory inquiry\, CAP cohort members identified biological and non synthetic input methods as a critical and underexplored piece of the regional food sovereignty question\, and organized this event to bring that work to a wider audience. Ivey is proud to host the event at CAP’s request. \nFour speakers headline the day: keynote Rick Clark\, a leading North American practitioner of no till and cover crop farming; John Benitz\, Founder and CEO of Libertas Land\, introducing the Libertas operating model of Compounding Adaptation; Simeon Kleinsasser of Hiwassee Products\, presenting on biological compost inputs; and local farmer Chuck Desmarais of Desmarais Family Farms\, who composts and extracts nutrients on his own farm. The day is facilitated by Jury Gualandris\, Session Chair and Ivey’s Abell Hodgson Chair in Regenerative Agriculture\, who weaves in observations and anecdotes from the front lines of the Collective Action Program for Regenerative Agriculture (CAP)\, Ivey’s action research program with farmers across the region. \nThe day is education first and practitioner led. It is designed to build practical knowledge for farmers considering a transition\, strengthen the regional farming community\, and signal that a bioregional agri food supply chain is a present tense project already underway in Southwestern Ontario. \n This event is an OSCIA-recognized Knowledge Sharing Event (KSE) for applicants with On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF) projects in the Nitrogen Management category \nQuick Facts\n\nEvent: Learning from the Field\nOrganized by: Collective Action Program (CAP) for Regenerative Agriculture\nHosted by: Ivey Business School\, Western University\, at CAP’s request\nDate: Tuesday\, November 17\, 2026\nTime: approximately 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM\, doors open at 8:30 AM for a meet and greet\nMeals: coffee service provided in the morning and throughout the day\, with lunch included for all attendees\nVenue: BMO Auditorium\, Ivey Business School\, London\, Ontario\nAudience: farmers\, researchers\, and agricultural professionals in Southwestern Ontario\nTickets: $25 early bird through November 11; $50 starting November 12 (full event value approximately $75\, subsidized by event sponsorship)\n\nRegistration: https://www.ivey.uwo.ca/sustainability/events/learning-from-the-field/

SUMMARY:Adaptive Multi Paddock Grazing with Virtual Fencing
DESCRIPTION:  \nDate: Tuesday\, November 17\, 2026 \n\nTime: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM Central \n\n\nAdaptive Multi-Paddock (AMP) grazing can help producers improve pasture utilization\, respond to changing forage conditions and give livestock access to fresh forage more frequently. However\, moving temporary fences and maintaining water access can make more intensive grazing systems challenging to implement. \nJoin ranchers Tim Wray of Alberta and Marie-Pier Beaulieu of Quebec for a practical discussion about using virtual fencing to support AMP grazing. Drawing on their experience and research\, they will share how they are using this technology\, how cattle learn and respond to the system\, and what they are seeing in their pastures. They will also discuss how virtual fencing affects the labour\, time\, infrastructure and day-to-day decisions involved in moving cattle\, along with some of the challenges and limitations producers should consider. This webinar is in partnership with the Farm Resilience Mentorship (FaRM) program.  \nSpeakers:\nTim Wray\, fourth generation Alberta rancher and winner of the 2023 Environmental Stewardship Award\nMarie-Pier Beaulieu\, Director of the Conseil québécois des plantes fourragères (CQPF) \nRegister for free here (scroll down to the November 17th event and then create a free account):  \nhttps://www.sciencesocieties.org/education/online-courses \nCEUs:\nCCA/CPAg: 1.0 Sustainability\nCPSS/CPSC: 1.0 Professional Meetings \n\nAdaptive Multi Paddock Grazing with Virtual Fencing is an OSCIA-recognized Knowledge Sharing Event (KSE) for farmers with On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF) projects in the Rotational Grazing category.
