SUMMARY:No-till Mulch at Nith Valley Organics
DESCRIPTION:Nathan and Aleta Klassen from Nith Valley Organics invite you to their Plattsville farm where they grow certified organic vegetables and raise pastured livestock. They are also long-time participants in the farm-led research program and have hosted trials of grafted tomatoes\, red carrots and\, more recently\, no-till mulching methods using woodchips in potato and winter squash crops. \nFollowing the tour\, participants are invited to enjoy their own picnic lunch together as a group. Please visit the EFAO event website to register and purchase tickets. \nFunding for the project has been provided by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada under the Agricultural Climate Solutions – Living Labs program and by the following partners: Beef Farmers of Ontario\, Dairy Farmers of Ontario\, Grain Farmers of Ontario\, Ontario Federation of Agriculture\, Ontario Pork and Ontario Sheep Farmers. The project is coordinated by the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association.
