SUMMARY:Bruce County Mystery Bus Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join Bruce County Soil & Crop for their Mystery Bus Tour\, Tuesday July 9th 2024! \nThe tour starts at 9:30 am with the bus departing from Paul Legge’s farm\, in the Chesley area. A guest agronomist will guide the stops through ‘mystery’ fields and bagged lunches will be provided. DESCRIPTION:Join us for Grey SCIA’s Annual Summer Crop Walk! \nTuesday July 16th 2024 at Highland Custom Farming in Proton Station\, from 9:30 am – 2:30 pm. \nThe tour will include a look at wheat in 15″ rows\, cranberry beans\, new corn herbicides\, the use of biological treatments\, a shop and elevator tour\, and a look at several pieces of new\, cutting edge equipment and technology.  \nThe cost is free for OSCIA members and $10 for non-members\, and includes a pizza lunch and refreshments. SUMMARY:Optimizing Nitrogen Efficiency in Dairy Systems
DESCRIPTION:Join OSCIA\, Soils at Guelph and the County of Wellington for a drop-in event on July 18 to learn more about the research underway at Harrcroft Acres Ltd. through the Living Lab – Ontario project. \nJanet Harrop\, dairy farmer and living lab cooperator\, is collaborating with Dr. Claudia Wagner-Riddle from the University of Guelph to conduct innovative research at the field scale. The research focuses on finding ways to enhance nitrogen efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions using 4R best management practices\, including nitrogen stabilizers and different application methods of liquid dairy manure. \nRegistration is required.
