SUMMARY:UTRCA Rural Landowner Workshop 2024
DESCRIPTION:The annual Rural Landowner Workshop is headed to the Embro Community Centre on March 21st from 7 pm – 9 pm. Rural landowners in the Upper Thames River watershed are invited to learn about conservation projects such as: \n\ntree planting including buffer strips\, windbreaks\, and highly erodible land retirement\,\nwetland restoration\,\ntallgrass prairie planting\, and\nagricultural Best Management Practices (e.g.\, cover crops\, erosion control structures\, etc.)\n\nGuest speakers include: \n\nDave Green\, Greenholm Farms Limited – cover crops\, strip tillage\, digestate management\nPhil Holst\, Duck’s Unlimited – wetland creation and enhancement\n\nConservation Authority experts will discuss how they can help with the planning and design of these projects\, as well as access grants to reduce costs by up to 80%. \nTo register\, visit: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/rural-landowner-workshop-2024-tickets-809349073867?aff=oddtdtcreator
