DESCRIPTION:Beef Farmers of Ontario invite you to join us for farm tours in Brant County and surrounding area. This event will provide an opportunity to learn from other cow-calf producers\, along with a tour of a feedlot and local abattoir. We look forward to discussing pasture management\, strategies to prepare calves for the feedlot\, and herd expansion. \nCOW-CALF MANAGEMENT TOUR\nBrant County & surrounding area\nSEPTEMBER 6 & 7\, 2024 \nRegister here \nDraft Agenda: \nFriday\, September 6th \n\n12:30 p.m. Registration at Best Western\, Branford\n1:00 p.m. Carpool to first farm\n1:20 p.m. Farm Stop #1 – Commercial cow-calf\, feedlot and cash crop operation\n3:15 p.m. Farm Stop #2 – feedlot operation with discussion on traceability\n5:15 p.m. Return to hotel for check-in\n6: 30 p.m. Dinner and evening reception\nEvening Hospitality\n\nSaturday\, September 7th \n\n7:00 – 8:00 a.m. Breakfast\n8 :15 a.m. Bus to depart hotel\n9:00 a.m. Stop #3 – Provincial Abattoir Tour\n11:30 a.m. Lunch Stop\n1:00 p.m. Farm Stop #4 -commercial cow-calf and backgrounding with discussions on\nrotational grazing and barn design\n3:00 p.m. Arrive back at Best Western\, Brantford\nSafe travels home\n\nPlease note: For the safety and security of our tour hosts\, we have omitted names and location details from the agenda above.
