SUMMARY:Precision Conservation and Profit Mapping
DESCRIPTION:The Ontario Certified Crop Advisor Association (CCA) and Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association (OSCIA) have partnered to deliver training and educational resources to Ontario agronomists. With a focus on cover crops\, nitrogen management\, and rotational grazing\, these sessions will support the objectives of the On-Farm Climate Action Fund. With the Precision Ag specialty recently opened to Ontario CCAs\, there is an opportunity to broaden training related to sustainable agricultural practices. Check out the full webinar series schedule here. \nJoin us on Wednesday\, September 23 with Anastassia Lagounova\, Conservation Specialist with the Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) and Aaron Breimer\, Ontario CCA and agronomist. Anastassia will present on the outcomes and results of GRCA’s Profit Mapping Demonstration Project (2020-2024) and the Agriculture Conservation Planning Framework (ACPF) pilot project\, a GIS-based toolbox developed by the USDA Agricultural Research Service that helps identify opportunities for conservation practices to improve water quality\, manage runoff\, and reduce erosion. Aaron will share the challenges and benefits of profit mapping from the agronomist’s perspective. \nThis webinar will include a presentation on the GRCA Profit Mapping Project\, a CCA/agronomist perspective on profit mapping\, and a summary of OSCIA programs that can utilize this technology. \nFunding for this project has been provided by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada through the Agricultural Climate Solutions (ACS) – On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF). This event is free to attend. \nCEUs: 1.0 Crop Management OR 1.0 Precision Ag (Pending Approval) \nREGISTER HERE \n

SUMMARY:ONFARM: Getting to the Root of Soil Health - September 23rd
DESCRIPTION:Join OSCIA for an afternoon of exploring what on-farm research is telling us about the impacts and opportunities of soil health practices. The event will highlight results and insights from ONFARM research trials\, including soil health\, water quality\, and economic analysis. Hear directly from researchers and producers about what the data is showing\, what we are learning in the field\, and how these findings can help inform on-farm decision-making.\n\nDon’t miss out — register today! This event is being offered on two separate days: Monday September 21st and Wednesday September 23rd at two separate locations.\n\nRefreshments will be available. Please come prepared for the weather. Seating is limited\, you may want to bring your own folding chair.\n\nIf registering for Monday September 21st → register at this site: https://membership.ontariosoilcrop.org/event/getting-to-the-root-of-soil-health-september-21-site/\n\nIf registering for Wednesday September 23rd → register below.\n\n*This event is recognized as OSCIA OFCAF KSE under BMP category Cover Cropping
