Understanding Urease and Nitrification Inhibitors
January 28 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
The Ontario Certified Crop Advisor Association (CCA) and Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association (OSCIA) have partnered to deliver training and educational resources to Ontario agrologists. With a focus on cover crops, nitrogen management, and rotational grazing, these sessions will support the objectives of the On-Farm Climate Action Fund. Check out the full webinar series schedule here.
Join us on Wednesday, January 28 with Dr. John Lauzon to explore how urease and nitrification inhibitors can reduce nitrogen losses in agricultural systems and improve nitrogen use efficiency. Nitrogen is essential for crop growth, yet a significant portion of applied fertilizer is often lost through ammonia volatilization, nitrification, denitrification, and leaching. These losses reduce crop uptake, increase production costs, and contribute to environmental impacts such as nitrous oxide emissions and water contamination.
Funding for this project has been provided by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada through the Agricultural Climate Solutions (ACS) – On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF).
This event is free to attend. CEUs 1.0 Nutrient Management available (Pending Approval). This webinar is an OSCIA-recognized Knowledge Sharing Event (KSE) for applicants with On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF) projects in the Nitrogen Management category (only available for the live webinar).
