Rotational Grazing: Improving Soil Fertility for Nutrient-Dense Beef

October 15, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

The Ontario Certified Crop Advisor Association (CCA) and Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association (OSCIA) have partnered to deliver training and educational resources to Ontario agrologists. With a focus on cover crops, nitrogen management, and rotational grazing, these sessions will support the objectives of the On-Farm Climate Action Fund. Check out the full webinar series schedule here.

Join us on Wednesday, October 15 with Randy Gamble for an interactive presentation “Rotational Grazing: Improving Soil Fertility for Nutrient-Dense Beef”. This presentation explores a grazing strategy that combines cover crops and nutrient reduction to enhance both pasture productivity and overall farm sustainability. While soil health is often emphasized in row crop systems, it’s equally vital for grazed pastures–boosting forage quality and reducing reliance on fertilizers beyond just nitrogen. Nutrient-dense forage = nutrient-dense beef. By focusing on forage quality, the farm produces healthier, more nutrient-rich beef.

Funding for this project has been provided by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada through the Agricultural Climate Solutions (ACS) – On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF).

This event is free to attend. CEU credits are available.
