Hello All, and welcome to the 10th edition of the Georgian Bulletin!
There’s a bit of juxtaposition in the fall as the year seems to be winding down while harvest work takes off. It’s a very busy season in agriculture, and yet I’m always impressed with how volunteers seem to pull extra hours from their ‘back pockets’ to get their work done, at the same time as carrying out all kinds of culminating events for the summer too.
Please be sure to thank those on your boards who do double duty at this time of year. With winter meetings coming fast, and Fall Fairs in full swing, volunteer efforts during harvest can’t be overstated. Over the next few months, I hope you’ll make the time to head out to the events they’ve planned, and show your support of their efforts by taking part. Let’s keep our organizations strong – whether as a volunteer or just one of the community, everybody plays a part!
On that note, I’d like to thank everyone who submitted articles or reports for this newsletter – you are the backbone of Georgian SCIA and we are grateful for the work you put in!
All the best,
Emily McKague,
On behalf of Grey Ag Services.
