Hello members. I hope your fall work is moving along smoothly. All the beans should be off by now and some will probably be happy with their yields in the Georgian Region. I know in my part of North Simcoe it wasn’t very good but with two months with no rain I don’t think we were expecting yields to be very large. The corn here is maybe a little surprising. I have never seen corn get to head height and actually stop growing but there are spots in the fields where the yield monitor is hitting 200 bushels – but then within 20ft it’s nowhere near that. With conditions like we had this summer you learn pretty quickly where the good spots are in the fields when you’re harvesting. It will certainly give the farming community something to talk about this year, lol.

The AGMs are fast approaching for the region don’t forget to get out and get to those meetings.
