Join the OSN and Ben Van Dieten with Maitland Valley Conservation Authority for a tour of Alan Willits’s operation. Alan will share what he is working on focusing on planting black beans into green cereal rye with strip till, as well as his trial of using Calcium Nitrate to increase Brix of his black beans and soyabeans. Ben will share more information on local funding opportunities. Join the OSN and Ben Van Dieten with Maitland Valley Conservation for a tour of Harrison Burgsma’s operation. Harrison will share his work with no-till as well as the farms water management structures. Harrison Burgsma is a third generation farmer who runs a cash crop, hog and broiler operation near Dungannon.
