Valley Bio’s Field Day

Join us for a hands-on, knowledge-packed day at Valley Bio’s Field Day, hosted at our warehouse and field plots in Cobden. This year’s event features: Tours exploring crop rotation strategies, cover crop options, soil health practices, and Data-Intensive Farm Management Live demos of the Smart Farm Robot and our drone, Speedy Dronezales Xavier from Picketa Systems showcasing the Picketa Lens real-time tissue analyzer and answering your questions
🔬 Bring your crop tissue samples! Corn will be scanned on-site with real-time results Soybeans and wheat will be sent to the lab to support the Lens’s expanding database First 15 samples are FREE—a sample registration form will appear after submitting this event registration
🌿 Kurtis Black will speak on high-performance forage blends, while Claire Coombs and Laura Neill lead a walk-through of our cover crop plots and discuss options tailored to different farm goals.
🌱 We’re also excited to welcome Lorraine Vandermyden from the Ontario Soil Network (OSN), who will present on what OSN is, what they do, and how they support Ontario farmers.
🍗 Lunch is catered by local favourite Kevin Schoenfeldt, serving up his legendary fried chicken.
